Donkey care workshop in Lanark hailed great success

The workshop, held at the Scottish Equestrian Hotel at Lanark Racecourse on Saturday, was run by the Sidmouth-based Donkey Sanctuary.

The course, entitled Your Donkey from Foal to Forty, has been touring the UK since April aiming to provide up-to-date information on the care of donkeys from their early years.

The day also covered the management of the donkeys' feet, to prevent common foot problems such as thrush, abscesses and seedy toe, which are frequent in the damp UK climate.
