Don't forget to register to vote for your MSP

East Dunbartonshire Council is encouraging residents to make sure they are registered to vote in the Scottish Parliament election.

On Thursday, May 5, voters in Scotland will go to the polls to elect 129 MSPs to the Scottish Parliament. East Dunbartonshire residents will vote in one of two constituencies depending on where they live:

·Strathkelvin and Bearsden (including Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs,Twechar, Torrance, Milton of Campsie and Lennoxtown)

·Clydebank and Milngavie (including the local wards of Milngavie and Bearsden North).

Residents will also vote for list MSP candidates in the West Scotland Region.

Poll cards started being issued from March 16 and give details of where to cast your vote.

The deadline for registering to vote is Monday, April 18 - however, voters are being urged to act now to ensure they don’t miss out. Register online - visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote for more information, call 0800 980 0471 or e-mail [email protected]. Or you can ask for a paper form by writing to the Electoral Registration Officer, 235 Dumbarton Road, Clydebank, G81 4XJ.
