Douglas woman Ina Thomas celebrates her 100th birthday

There were joyous scenes at the weekend as Douglas woman Ina Thomas celebrated her 100th birthday.

Ina received her telegram from the Queen on her birthday, on December 2, as well as beautiful bouquets of flowers and cards from well-wishers.

There was also a party in Glespin Hall where four generations of her family came together to celebrate Ina reaching the milestone – including newest great-grandchild Alex, born only a few weeks ago.

Ina’s daughter Joy Hitchcock said: “There were over 100 guests there with a lot of the family coming down from Inverness and from other parts of the country.

“Young Alex was only born a couple of weeks ago so it was great to see him.”
