Dovesdale campaigners submit petition to Holyrood

CAMPAIGNERS against the controversial Dovesdale Incinerator have formally submitted a public petition to the Scottish Parliament.

The Dovesdale Action Group has formally called on the Scottish Government to review the national Zero Waste Plan in respect of improving the planning and consultation process.

The group has also called on the Government to seek a national health study on the effects of emissions from incinerators on public health and the environment.

The petition is yet another indication that the battle over Dovesdale – which has rumbled on for more than two years now – is far from over.
