Draw your Maw competition for children

KIDS – if you want to show your mum just how special she is, then we have the perfect competition for you!

In the run-up to Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 18, the Cumbernauld News and Kilsyth Chronicle has teamed up with Cumbernauld Shopping Centre to offer a great competition with some fantastic prizes.

And all you have to do is draw a picture of your mum.

The competition is open to all our young readers under the age of 16, with two categories: seven and under and eight plus.

Every entry submitted will soon be featured in a special gallery in Cumbernauld Shopping Centre.

We will also publish a random selection of your drawings and paintings in the News and Chronicle – and if you get your entry in early enough, you may even see it featured in our exciting ‘Love Your Mum’ supplement!

Readers of the News and Chronicle and shoppers in Cumbernauld Shopping Centre will then have the opportunity to vote for the drawing they like the best.

The winner in each category will receive a £50 gift card, courtesy of sponsors First Choice, which they can spend on their mum.

Cumbernauld Shopping Centre manager Robert Barr said: “Traditionally Cumbernauld Shopping Centre has considered itself as at the heart of the community of Cumbernauld and we are proud to continue that tradition.

“We are always looking to promote the centre by becoming involved in local activities and this promotion, brought to us by your good selves at the News and Chronicle, is a fine example of such an involvement.

“It is a win-win situation, with a competition for the kids, prizes for their mums, good feature for the press and good promotion for the centre, especially when the drawings are displayed here over the competition period,” he added.
