Easter fun weekend raises over £2000 for charity

IT was all the fun at the fair over the Easter weekend in Craigmarloch.

The Tesco store organised a mini-carnival to entertain families, raising over £2000 for Diabetes UK into the bargain.

Tesco community champion Doreen Reid, said: “Diabetes UK is the new Tesco charity so we held this fair as a way to support it. The weather was nice but could have been a lot warmer.

“The fair was on from Good Friday until the holiday Monday and was bigger than last year’s event.” Attractions and rides included Miami, waltzers, dodgems, kangaroos, and some free face painting during selected periods each day. The event organisers also gave free ride vouchers to Tesco staff as a morale boost.

“It was a really good event and brought in a good total. We wouldn’t be able to raise nearly as much without the loyalty of our staff and customers so a big thank you goes to them.”

Tesco Craigmarloch is licenced to hold another event along similar lines this year and they are planning for this to take place late in August.
