Eco activities at Mearns kirk

GREEN-fingered children at Mearns Kirk Sunday Club braved the less than seasonal weather last week to plant the first flowers of spring.

The children visited the church’s wild flower garden to plant some apt snowdrop bulbs as part of the congregation’s ongoing eco drive.

It’s the latest in a series of environmental events the church has been involved in since taking up eco-congregation status, and Mearns kirk’s eco-warrior, Kay Galloway, said: “We thought planing snowdrops would be a fun way to get the children involved in our eco activities and make them aware of the need to care for the planet.”
