People from all across the area and further afield can find out the latest news and events from libraries and the heritage and arts services by following @EDLC_Culture on Twitter or liking the EDLC Culture page on Facebook.

If you are of a more sporty nature then search for EDLC Leisure on Facebook and look out for @EDLC_Leisure on Twitter to get news about health and fitness courses, sports development and Active Schools.

Scott Hill, Chair of EDLC Trust, said: “The Trust has to change with the times and social media is a good example of how we are embracing new communications tools.

“Our goal is to help residents know all about the exciting events taking place in the Trust’s cultural and leisure venues across East Dunbartonshire and our new social media accounts will help us reach more people.”

Councillor Alan Moir, Convener of Development and Regeneration, added: “As a convert to the benefits of and a big advocate to the use of social media, I wholeheartedly welcome the launch of the Trust’s accounts.

“The Trust does a lot of important and exciting work and by using social media we can instantly explain directly to residents what we?re doing and why we do it.

“Our social media accounts will allow us to communicate and engage more effectively with our customers. I would encourage everyone to start following and liking our accounts to find out what is happening in East Dunbartonshire.”
