Electrifying win for Cumbernauld apprentice Neil

A BRIGHT spark from Cumbernauld has been voted the best apprentice electrician in the Clyde and Forth Valley at a recent competition.

Neil Adamson (23), from Seafar, was given the title after taking part in the Electrotechnical Modern Apprentice Competition organised by the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust.

The apprentice, who works at E&S Electrical said: “I did not bad in the competition and it’s nice to get a wee something in return for hard work.

“Working with E&S for the past few years has been a great help and being in a competition like this gives you an idea of the pressure you can be under at work.”

The event took place at Motherwell College and was a two day practical skills competition.

Roy Dow, training and development manager for SECTT said: “Neil has progressed well in his three years at college and at work.

“He did an excellent job.”
