Enjoy great family day out at Westerton Gala Day

The much-loved community event Westerton Gala Day is being held again this year on Saturday, September 3.

Maryhill Harriers have agreed to help with the one mile fun run again this year, which is open to adults and children.

This year it’s raising funds for the Prince and Princess of Wales new purpose built Hospice in in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.

The Hospice is launching its Buy a Brick campaign on August 31.

Registration for the run opens at 11am at Wheatfield Road and then there will be a warm up led by fitsteps instructor Eilidh.

The one mile run will start at 11.30am and all runners will receive a medal.

The gala day, based at Westerton Community Hall on Maxwell Avenue, Bearsden, will also have a Gala Queen crowning and parade and loads of other activities including a craft fair, donkey rides, henna tattoos, photo booth, archery, Nerf gun wars, a toddler zone with face painting.

The Great Gala Bake Off is also back by popular demand after its success last year and the animal man will be there with some interesting creatures for children to hold.
