Environmental issue flagged up in Croy with possible removal of Air Quality Management Area status

Croy residents are being asked to comment on plans by North Lanarkshire Council – after it emerged that air quality in the village may not be monitored in the future.

Croy falls within an Air Quality Management Area -but the council says that monoring has shown an improvement and consistently met the standards required for five years.

Councillor Michael McPake, Convener of the Environment and Transportation Committee said: “It is important that we hear from the people who live and work in the area before we take the decision. If the AQMA is removed, the council will continue to monitor the air quality to ensure it continues to meet required standards.”
