Forth and Lanark celebrate Beautiful success
Formerly known as Beautiful Scotland in Bloom, this yearly ‘beauty contest’ between the country’s various communities is hotly contested with each town and village sprucing itself up for the annual visit.
Last year Forth put one over Lanark, taking a Silver Award while Lanark managed just a Bronze.

Flourishing Forth was pleased with their award.
“We were delighted,” said Ann Anderson. “Silver Gilt is the award above Silver, and I believe the one above that is gold, which we will try for next year.”
“We have a lot of community help,” added Ann.
Organising the Royal Burgh’s entry, Lanark in Bloom’s Ernie Romer said he was well pleased.
“The judges seemed very interested in the projects around the town, including the work to improve Castlebank Park and the Clydesdale Community Initiative’s maintenenace at the Sensory Garden,” he said.
