Sad discovery at Strathclyde Park’s loch

Police in Motherwell were called out to Strathclyde Park yesterday (Tuesday December 1) after a sad discovery was made in the loch.

The alarm was raised around 10am after a female visitor to the park saw a man’s body in the water.

The man’s body was duly recovered from the waters of the park by the emergency services.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We were called around 10am to a report of a body being seen in the loch, near to Spine Road in Motherwell.

“The body of man has been recovered, there are no suspicious circumstances and enquiries are ongoing.
