Hazeldene Family Centre has provided a service for 44 children and families over the summer.

The location of the nursery means it has no public transport within a safe walking distance making it impossible to get the children out and about in the wider local community.

Thanks to East Renfrewshire Good Causes and ASDA’s Community Champion, Claire, the children and families of Hazeldene have had the opportunity to participate in visits to a variety of places of interest within East Renfrewshire.

The children have had a ball visiting Eaglesham Wind Farm, Rouken Glen and the National Museum of Rural Life, funded by ERGC.

ASDA provided a guided tour of the store followed by a tea party with Pudsy Bear making an appearance and a bag of shopping which provided snacks for a whole week. Russell MacMillan, founder of the charity said: “It was lovely for my wife Yvonne and I to be invited to the tea party where we met many of the kids and staff team.”
