After months of painstaking work to restore this beautiful landmark building the attention to detail is impressive.

The exterior of this Tudor Gothic style mansion which was built in 1890 has been completely overhauled.

All the stone has been repointed and the stairs to the entrance have been rebuilt as they were orginally. An art deco inspired handmade stained glass window allows light to flood into the stairwell in the entrance which has an open oval shaped banister on the second floor.

The coving has all been restored and new flooring has been laid throughout - combining wood with bespoke carpets.

The turret was refurbished and the Victorian staircase leading to it, although not in use now, has been kept as a feature in the bathroom of the honeymoon suite - which also has a huge rain shower and round copper bath for guests.

There is a nod to the history of the building on a marble wall in the hotel entrance with the Bear of Gree (Bearsden Coat of Arms) and a memorial to former Provosts of the Burgh of Bearsden.

Each of the 12 bedroom suites are individually designed and tastefully decorated with vintage style furniture which makes them feel classic and decadent at the same time.

The only word to describe Annabel’s restaurant and bar is ‘sumptuous’, the decor is inspired by Hotel Costes in Paris and each red velvet chair was handmade to similar design to ones in the French hotel.

There’s also a stunning huge grand ballroom with large windows which you can’t see through from outside to allow privacy, and there are ten beautiful large crystal chandeliers, all handmade in Italy.

General manager Mark Currie, who previously had a resturant in Arran called Coast, said: “This is a really exciting project.
