For the Fairtrade Art Show they are asking for paintings, drawings and collages with a Fair Trade theme which will be displayed at the event.

Some Lenzie schools and nurseries are involved but individual entries are welcomed from people of all ages - just let those artistic juices flow!

A registration form can be downloaded from the Community Council website - www.lenziecommunitycouncil.org.uk - the rules and regs are there too.

There will be certificates for all entries with a judge awarding special commendations for those artworks which best convey the Fairtrade message.

Continuing with the art and Fair Trade themes, there will be hands on arty/crafty activities for the children and stalls to browse for the adults, with the ever popular bamboo socks making yet another appearance at a Lenzie Fairtrade occasion.

Tracy Mitchell from the Lenzie Fairtrade Group said: “We are delighted to be hosting a very different event in Lenzie to mark Fairtrade Fortnight this year. However, we want to emphasise the inclusive nature of our art show: it’s not so much about artistic talent as thinking about the important Fairtrade messages and how these can be conveyed using visual media”.

To cover catering costs, there will be a charge of £2 for adults and £1 for school age children (pre school free).
