Families support for Milton Grange, Carluke

FAMILIES have rushed to the defence of Carluke’s Milton Grange nursing home after it was slated in a Glasgow newspaper.

Richard Swan, whose grandfather Tommy Gold of Carluke, lives in the home, told the Gazette of the anger felt by many families.

On Friday, the day the article appeared, Tommy’s large family were celebrating his 89th birthday.

“We were in the home enjoying yet another great time with my Grandpa, and chatting and laughing with all of the great staff; at the same time someone started to tell us of the article,” said Richard.

“It was like reading about another place entirely; there was no connection with the reality of the care in the home.”

Other families also contacted the Gazette this week to praise the nursing home,
