Family matters

PARENTS: Mum is Gemma (23), a paediatric occupational therapist. Her husband Jamie (28) is in the surveying game and works as an estimator for an underwater cable firm. They live in Balmalloch Road, Kilsyth. Grace is their first child.

PREGNANCY: Once a groggy period of morning sickeness disappeared all went well for Gemma.

BIRTH: Gemma was three days late but no complications otherwise.

BABY: ‘‘Eating well sleeping well,’’ said Gemma. And what a thatch she has too! Grace was known as ‘‘the baby with the hair’’ at the hospital – she already boasts a barnet thick as any adult’s AND a side shed!

NAME: Mum and dad wanted a traditional name and liked the way Grace means ‘gift from God’.

GRANDPARENTS: Gemma’s mum and dad Robert and Lynda live in Laird’s Hill Place. Jamie’s mum and dad John and Linda live in Rosehearty, Aberdeenshire.
