THE heartbroken family of Elizabeth Hill have paid tribute to the woman described by them all as irreplaceable.

Elizabeth (33) was found outside St John's Church on Sunday by church organist Fiona Hobson, suffering from suspected hypothermia.

An ambulance was called and she was taken to Wishaw General Hospital but lost her fight for life soon after.

Dad Raymond Wardropper, who runs GFT Minibus Hire in the town, said: "She devoted all her time to her family and her two children Shannon (11) and Darrell (7).

"Elizabeth was very close to her two brothers Raymond and Craig and also looked after their kids while they were working. She was close to their kids too."

Her mum, Elizabeth senior, added: "She was so well liked by everyone who knew her. She was very content with her life and she lived for her kids."

Elizabeth married husband Don at St Andrew's Church in Carluke in June 2005.

Don said: "She was just a wee gem. She is irreplaceable to me.

"She was definitely a person who was one in a million and was very family-orientated. She would give you her last penny."

The family would like to thank friends, neighbours and the community for their support in the past few days.

Elizabeth's funeral service is likely to take place on Monday.
