Farewell card as Freda Parlett closes Lanark shop
AFTER more than three decades of being at the front line of everything that was happening in Lanark, Freda Parlett has retired and her card shop, Upstairs Downstairs, has closed.
And while Freda says she will miss her customers, they will certainly miss her more.
As the woman selling congratulations – and sympathy – cards, she had her finger on the pulse of the town, knowing all the births, marriages, deaths and special celebrations! But at 73, she has decided to call it a day.
