Farmer to judgeat show

A FARMER from Kilsyth has been invited to judge at a major agricultural event.

Archie MacGregor of Allanfauld Farm was offered a spot judging the Borderway Agri Expo, taking place in Carlisle in October. He is a veteran of cattle shows, a breeder of champion beasts and has judged at many shows.

Archie said: “I first started showing in 1975 and we have bred four Smithfield champions of our own. Until recently we showed our own livestock at the Scottish Winter Fair and several of the summer shows. I visited the Borderway Agri-Expo last year and am delighted to have been invited to judge.”

The MacGregors have been farming since 1926, raising herds of cattle and sheep on their 1400-acre farm, including many prizewinning specimens. Archie and his son run the farm.
