Farmers may have to keep closer eye on ewe body condition score this winter

Variable ewe condition score, and low quality/low intake forages mean farmers may need to modify sheep diets and keep a closer eye on ewe body condition score this winter.

With the poor weather this year, silage making has been challenging to say the least. Some farmers were lucky to lift the crop during the few good periods, but many had to cope as best they could resulting in some very poor silages.
