Farmers need to know regulations on use of medicines to treat fluke
The spread and increasing incidence of fluke is all too well known to the agricultural sector but dairy farmers need to ensure that they are up to date with the new regulations on the use of medicines to treat fluke.
The wetter summers and milder winters in recent years have played an important role in the spread of fluke into areas where the disease was not previously an issue and has also increased the level of infection caused in areas where it was a problem.
Many farmers are now, unfortunately, well aware of the impact fluke can have on stock, be it loss of stock to liver fluke or simply the reduce levels of performance.
