Farmers should have been monitoring remaining silage stocks
Following the exceptionally poor season last year, many farmers will not have enough silage to see them through the rest of the winter.
From early winter the message has been to plan ahead.
Some within the industry are planning for an early season to get cattle turned out earlier.
