Fashion show raised funds for church repairs

MEMBERS of Condorrat Church held a fashion show to raise awareness of the serious repairs needed at their place of worship.

The group of parishioners raised almost £2900 on the day, held at the Westerwood Hotel.

But church elder Margaret McCallum says that will only go a small way to raising the hundreds of thousands of pounds needed to stop brick work crumbling below the floor of the church.

Margaret said: “The fashion show was very successful and we even had people on the day asking if it’s going to be an annual event.

“However, it’s a small amount in comparison to what we need so we’ll need to do a lot more.”
