Fears grow for missing elderly dementia sufferer from Bishopbriggs

Concern is growing for a vulnerable elderly man who has gone missing from his home in Bishopbriggs.

Henry Patterson (83) who suffers from early on-set dementia, was last seen walking on Rannoch Avenue towards Laggan Road in the town, around 12 noon yesterday (Monday, September 5).

Police said there was “particular concern” as Mr Patterson does not normally leave his house alone and has never been missing for this length of time. They are appealing for help from the public to trace him.

Mr Patterson is described as white, around 5ft 8 inches in height, of slim build and has thinning white hair. He is described as having a ruddy complexion and a prominent nose.

When last seen, Mr Patterson was wearing a brown fleece, grey trousers and he may having been wearing a flat cap. He is also believed to be in possession of a pipe. He may be walking at a slow pace with a stoop and may appear confused because of his illness.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Kirkintilloch urgently via 101.
