Fears that High Mill Primary headteacher faces sack are dismissed by council

PARENTS’ fears that the popular acting headteacher of Carluke’s High Mill Primary School faces being sacked have been dismissed by education chiefs.

High Mill Parent Council members had been set to launch a petition against a radical South Lanarkshire Council proposal which they say would have seen headteacher Anne Jessimer lose her job following a merger with neighbouring special-needs school Victoria Park.

The Gazette contacted South Lanarkshire Council Education Department and a spokeswoman said: ”We would wish to reassure parents of both High Mill Primary School and Victoria Park School that there is no change to the existing arrangements and both headteachers will continue to be in post for the start of the new school term in August.
