Festival of History in Lanark is cancelled
THE largest single annual visitor event in Lanarkshire, the Festival of History held in Lanark, has been cancelled for 2012.
Organisers decided at a crunch meeting on Sunday that this year’s event at the Racecourse on August 18 and August 19 could not go ahead.
The same committee, along with a small but dedicated team of local volunteers, organises the town’s Christmas Market and Fair and doubts now also surround its future.
