‘Field of Dreams’ charity ball for Deafblind Scotland

Deafblind Scotland will host its annual Field of Dreams Gala Ball on Friday, March 28, in the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow.

Last year’s ball attracted a large crowd as well as socially conscious celebrities including Greg Hemphill of Still Game and River City star Pamela Byrne.

The annual ball will help raise funds to build a new learning and development centre on Deafblind Scotland’s ‘Field of Dreams’ site in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire.

It is hoped the centre will improve the lives of those who have lost both their sight and hearing.

As well as top class music from the lively Second Hand Elastic Band, the evening will also include a silent auction with top prizes.

Drena O’Malley, Deafblind Scotland initiatives officer, said: “We are extremely excited about this year’s ball. Since our first in 2012 the event has grown considerably and this year it will be bigger and better than ever. We have received some wonderful support from members of the Milngavie, Bearsden and Kirkintilloch communities in the past year and we would love to see them at the ball.”

Deafblind Scotland offers a number of specialist services to support those with a severe loss of both sight and hearing including a guide/communicator service and an accessible information service.
