Film made in CRAG campaign against new Upperward quarry

IT MIGHT not be a big Hollywood tearjerker like Ghost but those campaigning against a new quarry in the Upperward have produced a film they hope tugs the heartstrings of every South Lanarkshire councillor.

While other pressure groups use letters and demonstrations to push their case, the Clyde River Action Group (CRAG) has commissioned a film promoting its campaign, DVD copies of which are being sent to every councillor soon to vote on the controversial proposal at Overburns.

And that vote could come sooner than expected, warned campaign leader and local businessman and politician Arthur Bell.
