Five-figure sum of copper stolen from Cumbernauld building site

THIEVES who broke into a building site in Cumbernauld made off with copper worth a five-figure sum.

The Balfour Beatty construction site at Warpark was broken into sometime between 4.45pm on Thursday, November 15 and 7.30am the next day.

A large quantity of tools was taken in the haul as well as the copper interior windings of a transformer.
