Follow the Lanimer Ride Out tonight (Tuesday)

The Lanimer Ride Out left the Cross at 4.30pm today, but there is plenty of time to catch up with the riders and cheer them on.

Their route takes them to Lee Castle Lodge about 5pm, the Beeches about 5.45pm, and then Lanark Racecourse for the traditional Lanimer horse races at 6.30pm approximately.

After the chases, the riders set off again to New Lanark, arriving in the village about 7.50pm, where the prizes for the horse racing are presented.

The village also presents a Loving Cup to the Lanimer Queen-elect in a very short, simple ceremony.

The Ride Out then returns to Delves Park in Lanark, via Braxfield and Hollow Park.

If the weather stays as warm, it is a lovely evening of tradition old and new and worth going out for!
