Former chairman brands Carluke community council a ‘dead duck’

CARLUKE Community Council has been branded “a dead duck” by a former chairman and long standing member who recently quit the organisation after eight years.

Indian-born BD Sharma (74), who stood down from his role last month, said: “There is no real sense in continuing the community council because of the lack of power it has.

“Community councils, like Carluke’s, are dead ducks at the moment, waiting for guidance from the Scottish Government.
