Forth lights up at second attempt

THERE was a double whammy of excitement in Forth on Sunday as Santa dropped into the Masonic Hall to meet local children in his grotto and the village Christmas lights were switched on outside the church.

And, in a new addition for 2011 – the 10th staging of this annual event – two hours of children’s games and activities took place in the church hall.

Organisers said that a fantastic number of local villagers turned out to support proceedings.

There was even added drama when a system failure meant that the lights failed to turn on at the first attempt by local couple George and Janet Alexander.
