Free Draw Your Maw supplement

WE’VE had a tremendous response to our “Draw Your Maw” competition, to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Children put their drawing talents to good use to show just how much they love their mums.

And our office was inundated with entries for the two categories, under-eight years and over-eight.

We’ve included a selection of the many entries - which run into the hundreds - in a special FREE supplement with the News and Chronicle which hit the newsstands yesterday.

Our competition was run in association with Cumbernauld Shopping Centre, and sponsors First Choice.

Now shopping centre manager Robert Barr has put ALL the entries on display in a special “Draw Your Maw” gallery, based at Teviot Walk near Thomas Cook and opposite Gregg’s the bakers.

There will be special voting forms available in the gallery, and the pictures will be numbered – vote for your favourite and pop it in the voting box. The winners of each category will receive a £50 voucher each from First Choice, to buy something nice for their mums.

The gallery will be open all next week, although the winner will be chosen after Mother’s Day.

News and Chronicle editor Jack Shennan said: “We thought the competition would be popular – we had no idea it would be THIS popular!

“Our thanks go to everyone who took part, to Robert Barr for displaying the pictures in the special gallery in the shopping centre, and to sponsors First Choice for putting up the prizes.

“Can I also say a very special thank you to all the schools who encouraged their pupils to get drawing.”
