Fresh plea to trace woman who vanished from Stobhill Hospital

Police are making a fresh appeal to the public to help them trace 56-year-old Anne Vetvik who has now been missing for six months.

Anne, a Norwegian national, was reported missing by staff at Stobhill Hospital on Thursday, 13 February, 2020, and she was last seen at Bowker Vale MetroLink near Manchester on Friday, 14 February, 2020.

Enquiries since that time have established that she may still be in the Manchester area or may have travelled to London. Officers are liaising with their counterparts in Greater Manchester in an effort to locate Anne.

Anne is described as white, around 5ft 5ins in height, of medium build with shoulder length greying/brown hair. She speaks very good English with a Norwegian accent. She normally wears a woollen hat, wraparound sunglasses, red lipstick and habitually carries her handbags crossed over her shoulders and all of her possessions in shopping bags.

Sergeant Des Oates, of Maryhill Police Station, said: “Officers have been conducting extensive enquiries on a local and wider scale to establish Anne’s movements, but it has now been six months since she was reported missing and any information could prove vital to these efforts.

“We’re asking anyone who may have seen Anne since 14 February, or who may have information on her whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2011 of 13 February.”
