The event on Saturday, April 25, is open to all local people to help support local community groups and small businesses - and there will be plenty to see and do from around the area.

As well as trying your hand at various activities, local small businesses will be promoting what they do, and there’s still time for your firm to join in the fun.

There will be a whole host of exciting activities for children and adults to take part in and everyone is welcome to pop in to the community centre on Meiklehill Road, Kirkintilloch, between 12.30 and 3pm.

Tea, coffee and home-baking will available and there will be a range of stalls featuring goods from small local businesses on offer.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “I would encourage everyone to come along to the event to help support their local community and find out more about the community groups and businesses operating in the area.

“There is so much going on in Hillhead and the Community Centre is a modern and vibrant building that is an important social centre for the people of the area.

“Stalls are still available for businesses and community groups interested in attending the event at a cost of £5. All the money raised from this will go straight back into the community to help fund the next community event which will be held in the summer.”
