Genesis Research Trust funds the biggest collection of scientists and clinicians involved in researching the causes and cures for conditions that affect the health of women and babies.

Ellen and a work colleague is looking for support.

Ellen told The Extra: “Myself and my colleague Sharon Urqhuart will join the UK’s most successful, women-only cycle challenge to fund ground-breaking, medical research work at a major research centre in London.

“We will be cycling approximately 480km over five days from Tallinn to St Petersburg.

“We need to raise a minimum of £6,200 to take part.

“Both of us are staff nurses at the Southern General hospital, Neuro HDU, working and caring for individuals with many complex health needs.
