Gentle giant over Clydesdale is not a bomber

PERHAPS it’s all the nostalgia hits like Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs on the telly that’s causing it, but several Gazette readers thought they were getting transported back to wartime days last week.

The appearance in the skies over Carluke and the Clyde Valley of a low-flying, four-propellor aircraft on both Wednesday and Thursday mornings had many wondering about the identity of the mystery plane.
