George Patterson receives Dalai Lama’s Light of Truth Award

A 90-year-old former journalist living in quiet retirement in Lesmahagow might seem an unlikely recipient of an award from a world leader.

However, the more you learn about George Patterson, the more you realise what a major part he once played in modern history and why none other than the Dalai Lama is officially recognising that his deeds of half a century ago continue to have an impact today.

George, now a resident of the MHS Lower Jordanhill Care Home within the Auchlochan retirement village, has received the Tibetan spiritual leader’s Light of Truth Award.
