What better way to beat the early winter blues than a spot of reading, pottery, colouring in or comedy?

Scott Hill, Chair of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, said: “As the nights draw in, we sometimes need something to give us a bit of a lift. With that in mind East Dunbartonshire’s Cultural Services team has put together a programme of 50 events to help promote that feel good factor.

“Research has shown that creativity in any form, including attending a cultural event or space is a real contributor to a sense of well-being, so why not try one of our arts activities?

Ranging from the popular colouring-in for adults and children, to getting hands on with pottery, weaving and digital animation, there is something for all ages and tastes.”

You can help children relax with mindful activities created by author Lorraine Murray. The free session on Saturday, October 10 can help with common issues such as stress, low self-esteem, sleeplessness or poor concentration.

There’s a free workshop to help you deal with life’s ups and downs or you could find out more about Apps to make you feel good in free sessions in Brookwood and Milngavie Libraries. Pick up a brochure at libraries, Hubs and community centres or visit www.edlc.co.uk
