‘Top Girls’ by Caryl Churchill with a cast of 15 women of all ages.

One of the most important plays from our greatest living playwright, who recently celebrated her 77th birthday, it focuses on the implications of Thatcherism for the position of women.

Churchill abandons conventional narrative for a sprawling, fragmented, chaotic and deeply troubling feminist analysis. Rapidly switching from past to present, work to home, realism to fantasy and hilarity to horror, it asks: “Is sexual equality possible in a fundamentally unequal world?”

Directed by Kilmardinny veteran Paul Cockcroft, the play addresses adult themes and contains strong language so it’s only suitable for 16 year olds and over. On from November 26 to 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets £8 (£6 concession) from www.kilmardinnyplayers.org or call 0781 332 6318.
