Glasgow bids for fifth curry capital crown

Lord provost Sadie Docherty is on the hunt for Glasgow’s best curry in a bid to bring home the Curry Capital of Britain crown for the fifth time.

The city has won the title four times — matched only by Bradford.

Linn councillor Docherty said: “I’m urging everyone who loves their curry to make sure we reclaim our rightful position as the country’s top curry city. It’s simple to do and every vote counts.”

The competition is in its 13th year, with previous winners including Mother India, KoolBa, Mister Singhs and Ashoka Southside.

Nominations are open until August 14 — see the website.
