Mrs Alexander, principal teacher of religious, moral and philosophical studies at the Bishopbriggs school, described the award as a ‘tremendous achievement’ for the school.

She added: “It is an honour to receive this award and it shows that internationalism is embedded in the school curriculum.”

The school’s international work includes a German exchange programme, numerous Rights for Rights events, a Peace One Day Concert and ‘Battlefield Experience’ trips.
