Good news on property front as prices surge

House sales surged in East Dunbartonshire in the final three months of last year, according to officials figures.

Registers of Scotland (RoS) said residential sales climbed year-on-year by 10.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2015-16.

House prices also rose by 0.8 per cent since the same time last year to stand at an average £215,512.

The total value of 
property sales was up 11.1 per cent from £125,427,747 to £112,889,994.

For Scotland as a 
whole, residential sales increased by 14.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2015-16.

A total of 28,779 properties were registered - the highest number since 2008-09.

House prices nationally also rose by 1.6 per cent between October and December, to stand at an average of £167,734.
