Good soil conditions vital to farmers

GOOD soil conditions and effective soil management are necessary to make efficient and profitable use of organic and manufactured nutrient applications to grassland systems.

Routine soil analysis is an important part of management and is recommended in order to manage the pH of the soil and to monitor the level of phosphate and potash. Soils should be analysed when cultivated or once every four to five years for soil pH, and extractable P, K and Mg.
