The organisation, a fully registered charity, officially opens the premises next month, but threw open the doors to give the public a sneak preview.

Now You’re Talking was founded two years ago by David McArthur as a support group and helping hand to build people’s confidence so they could find employment.

He said: “I felt there was a gap in the market for people who had been through the mental healthcare system. “Often people would go through the treatment and counselling, but wouldn’t be well enough to move on to employment.

“We started off as a safe place where people could talk to each other in complete confidence about their troubles. We still do that but now we also offer numerous activities too.

“We’re not counsellors but we help people gain confidence and skills.”
