Greens to hold fracking meeting
North Lanarkshire Green Party are staging a public meeting on unconventional gas extraction – better known as fracking – in Chryston High School on September 3.
They say the aim is to provide information on the current situation and to “highlight the dangers to our communities”.
The boss of Grangemouth-based chemicals firm Ineos recently provoked controversy by predicting that fracking will be taking place in Scotland within a few years.
The Scottish Government currently has a moratorium on the process, pending a detailed public debate.
The Chryston meeting on September 3 starts at 7.30pm.
