Hair today, gone tomorrow

SO MANY young people these days seems to think the world revolves around them, but not little Hannah Jeans.

The Barrhead youngster has had a sizable chunk of hair cut of for the Make-A-Wish Foundation after noticing children with no hair on holiday.

When the seven-year-old realised children lost their hair due to ill health and treatment, she said she wanted these children to be happy.

Proud mum, Kirsten, said: “Hannah was so excited to have her hair cut for Make-A-Wish.

“Having a big haircut is nothing compared to what children go through during treatment for life-threatening conditions.

“Hannah wanted to make these children smile again by raising money to grant more wishes.”

There are around 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting a life-threatening condition.

In 2014 the Foundation wants to grant more than 1,000 wishes and are trying to raise £7 million to do this.

Kirsten continued: “Hannah initially wanted to raise £500, but we are now on target to raise around £1,350.

“Make-A-Wish do fantastic work and Hannah is thrilled with the generosity shown by everyone donating.

“We encourage everyone to support this wonderful charity.”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation receives no government funding or lottery grants and relies solely on the generosity of the public.
