Barmulloch Community Development Company (BCDC) is aiming to submit a £1million bid to the Big Lottery by September for a new hall complex.
The group recently secured funding to appoint a consultant, Community Links, to carry out local consultation and speak to organisations about providing grants.

The centre – expected to cost around £1.1million – will replace the current dilapidated hall, which was built by locals in 1955.
The new complex in Quarrywood Road will include three halls, an office and reception area, and will have more space to accommodate a number of groups – including mothers and toddlers, arts and crafts, bingo, a youth club, and much more.
The centre could also be used for family parties.

The current hall is rented out to Rob Roy Amateur Boxing Club and BCDC is running activities from the former church hall in Quarrywood Avenue.
Jim Hope, regeneration officer with BCDC, said: “We’re pleased that things are moving forward. We have been leading the plans for four and a half years now.
“By January next year we will know one way or another whether we have funding.

“The new hall will mean we can accommodate more people at the same time and expand our activities.”
